Maroula Blades  


 

 

Maroula Blades was born in Southampton/England. She was awarded first prize for her poem "Dream Seeds" in the "Black History Month Poetry Competition 2005" in England. The poem was broadcasted on the BBC radio. She has been awarded six diplomas in the "Scottish International Poetry Competition." Poems have been published in various anthologies in Germany. Her Poetry-/Music-Programme has already been presented on several stages in Berlin, the IFA, Haus der Kulturen der Welt, Friends Of Italian Opera, and Volksbühne, "Asian Pacific Week" Sept. 2005 at Museuminsel and the Malaysian Embassy in Berlin to name but a few. She also read at "International Poetry Festival 2004." In December 2005 the Cornelsen Verlag published the poetic tribute called "We owe it to you" for Rosa Parks. The article "Black Beauty" was published in the Easter anniversary edition of "The Daily" (TAZ) 2006.
The Verbrecher Verlag has published two short stories in 2004. This year Maroula read at the Leipziger Buchmesse and at the LIT-Köln Festival. More information is available on the internet at the Aviva-Magazine Berlin: Interview and about the Performance.

George Henry   


 

 

Since 1999 Jörg Heinrich (alias George Henry) has been working with Maroula Blades. He is composer, multi-instrumentalist and co-organizer. Together with Maroula Blades he has produced the 'Black Widow Poetry-/Music-/Art-Programme' and other multi-media events.
His music has been specifically composed and produced for each poem to enhance the semantic and musical context of the poetry through melodies, rhythms, instrumentation and sound effects. In 2004 he was awarded a grant at the 54th Berlinale Film Festival Talent Campus for film music [www.talent-campus.de]. More music productions and informations at www.koptunes.de.

Peter Blau  


 

 

Peter Blau is an established slide artist who is internationally known. His art has enhanced classical and jazz concerts, theatre projects, readings, and other events.
